Program Description:

This is a Mentoring Program for Children. The program provides assistance and supportive person-to-person services to children with special needs. Foster Grandparents give children the much-needed attention that can change lives. They help children learn to read care for children with disabilities and offer counseling to those who need it. Foster Grandparents give their experience and their talent to improve the lives of children in need.

Program Benefits:

As a Foster Grandparent, you’ll receive:
* Pre-service orientation and monthly training;
* An annual physical examination;
* Supplemental insurance;
* A small stipend for those who qualify;
* Helps with meal and transportation costs; and
* The joy of knowing you’re making a difference for children.

Children who need Foster Grandparents gain: * The individual attention they might not otherwise receive; * Confidence from your faith in them; * Tutoring to help them succeed in school; * The advice and life skills they need to lead productive lives; and * The life-changing opportunity to know the consistent love of a Grandparent Foster Grandparents help children develop the skills, confidence, and strength to succeed in life. Foster Grandparents make their neighborhoods stronger by helping children with special needs achieve their goals.There’s a child waiting right now for a Foster Grandparent.

Program Eligibility:

* Are over 55 years of age;
* Can volunteer an average of 20 hours a week;
* Have limited income; and
* Love children;
